Courage

Courage: Courage is a powerful word for humanity. In life, we are given many opportunities to shrink in fear or walk in courage. We believe that amidst the pain, difficulties, and struggle is a great opportunity to show courage and continue to grow and move forward in life.

There are many great people that we look up to throughout history who are remembered for their great acts of courage. Today, we look up to the men and women who courageously serve our country--risking their lives for our freedom.  We look to the single mother or father who works relentlessly to provide and care for their children. We also look to those who are risking their lives to bring the gospel into hostile nations.

With all of this, we look introspectively and ask ourselves, how are we walking in courage? Today, we urge you to choose courage in the face of fear!

Definition: strength in the face of pain or grief

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Matthew 14:27-29 "Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus."

Question: Have you identified specific areas in your life that you desire to show courage in?

Challenge: Choose courage over fear when facing pain or grief at work, with family, and in the daily decisions that come your way.
